Wade McMahan

Wade holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from the University of Tennessee, and has worked as a professional forester in both the public and private sectors. Throughout his career spanning nearly 50 years, he has provided professional leadership by serving on a number of statewide boards and committees addressing Tennessee’s forests and associated natural resources. He is a Member of the Association of Consulting Foresters, the Society of American Foresters, and Tennessee Forestry Association.

After spending almost half of a century working with Tennessee’s private landowners, Wade decided it was time to slow down and enjoy retirement. In December 2017, Austin purchased Tennessee Timber Consultants, Inc. Though he is no longer beating through the bushes on a daily basis, Wade has remained on staff with Tennessee Timber to lend his expertise as “Forester Emeritus.”
